What I know Today

What I know today is different than what I knew yesterday. Today I awoke to being a mother of an adult. Today I awoke to a path I have yet to travel. Today, I awoke to blessings beyond measure. I appreciate all you have given us Oh Lord and what you have given us has been plentiful! I pray that everyday is as beautiful and blessed as this one. I pray that this man brings you great honor and glory. I pray he awakes to your path each day with a renewed spirit and everyday is audacious in faith.

I love you Seth Gautreaux , you have made the life of being your mother one that has been filled with pride, happiness, love, laughter and faith. I thank you for being the child who came into my life to change me and challenge me to strive to be the best mom I could be. I thank you for putting up with my crazy antics, my embarrassing behavior, and psychotic mom trips, but just know it was all done out of love for you. For I hope you are greater because of it. I hope you learn from it. I pray you see when life should be taken seriously and when it shouldn't. These next steps in life won't be easy, they won't be fair and they won't always be happy. But what they will be is passing moments in what truly will be a life full of Amazing Grace that the Lord has always had over your life.

I love you dearly! May this be the first of many joyous moments in your life. #classof2017 #goldenclass

Be the Good

In John 17:22, one of Jesus’ final prayers for us was that we would be one. At the last supper he even prays about it and then goes out to the cross to suffer and die for us. His sacrifice on the cross wasn't just to only forgive us of our sins, but to overcome the divisions intensified by Satan. He says, "Father forgive them they know not what they do," (Luke 23:34). Those who crucified Jesus were not aware of the full scope of what they were doing because they did not recognize Him as the Messiah. While their ignorance of divine truth did not mean they deserved forgiveness, Christ’s prayer in the midst of their mocking Him is an expression of the limitless compassion of divine grace. THE GRACE WE SHOULD ALL HAVE WHEN DEALING WITH ANY MATTERS.

No doubt that in this century it is diffcult to handle things with grace and mercy given the speed of technology. Yet, the devil’s work of division starts within each one of us as we experience basically things that drive us, things that you might deem important or you might be passionate about. Some of these things that drive us or motivate us might be deemed noble or creative to some yet to others are sinful or destructive.

WE AS A PARISH ARE TORN AND DIVIDED. Most of us agree all lives are important not just one particular category. Therefore we should not allow issues to divide us but unite us even if it is just in prayer.

Paul describes in Romans chapter 7: "The good that I want to do, I do not do…, and when I try to do good, evil is at hand." DON'T LET WHAT GOOD YOU WANT TO DO BECOME HARM TO OTHERS.

The devil is capable of attacking us and will tap into your anger, past hurts, resentments, fears, misunderstandings, greed, pride, desperation, and arrogance to bring division. DON'T TAKE THINGS PERSONALLY, DON'T READ BETWEEN THE LINES OF A POST OR COMMENT, DON'T MISTAKEN SOMEONE'S TONE, AND DON'T ASSUME.

As St Paul writes, For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Eph 6:12). FEUDING BROTHERS & SISTERS RECONCILE AND SET ASIDE YOUR LESSER DIVISIONS.

Happy Resurrection Day!

This year we were a part of something that brought me joy, sadness and humbleness. Our church, Victory Life Church (Lockport), every year puts on a passion play. It was one of the most beautiful experiences I have ever been a part of. If you haven't seen it you need to! It is presented by the hardest working people I know, who do it all for the glory of God. Join us tomorrow for our Easter service @ 10AM and then the passion play @ 6PM! You don't want to miss either of them! Happy Easter & Resurrection Day!

For the love of a grammatically correct and complete sentence ...

I have always had a love of history, grammar and words. It has always been a difficult task to find another person as passionate about those subjects. I have often been told how weird I am or was when getting excited about constructing the perfect sentence. Mrs. Marge shared the same love I had for finding the missing pieces of history for a community member, writing the perfectly set piece on the historical value of our community and forming the correct statements when communicating. I had the pleasure of spending mornings, lunches and afternoons with this amazing Lady, who could set you straight with a smile. I enjoyed sharing stories with her about my life, her giving me advice and her sharing many stories of her life and others. I will dearly miss her. I will miss our talks. I will miss her logic. I will miss her knowlege. She is all I aim to be, a staple in our community, a role model, a pleasant friend and an inspiration to other young women. I'm gonna miss you Mrs. MARGE!!

We live

We live in troubled times is what they say.

We live in a hopeless world is what they say.

We live in a world of hate and corruption is what they say.

In this decade of protests, we should be gathering like this and professing instead of protesting. We should be speaking life not only into our lives but others. We should be professing our love and faith.

I say we live in a blessed world.

I say we live in a hopeful world.

I say we live in a world of Love & Unity.

You Won't Agree

You won't always agree with me.

You won't always agree with our President.

You won't always agree with your kids.

You won't always agree with your husband or wife.

You won't always agree with your parents.

Heck, you won't always agree with God.

But none of these will mean you can't love each other despite your disagreements.

Trust that better things are to come and that it won't come just from you or a President or your kids or your spouse or your parents or God. For His glory is not reached alone. We all have to work to be better together!
